Time For A Date Night!

When is the last time you’ve had a date night?  If you have to think about it, it’s been to long.  Now is the time to put a date night on the books, because it is a very important part of your marriage.  In today’s society everyone is very busy and always feels they don’t have enough time to take care of things.  When it comes to date night you cannot allow busyness to prevent you from having them.  You can do something fun or something you’ve never done before.  The most important thing is you are experiencing life together.  I implore

Why is date night so important?

Date night is so important because it allows you to relax and unwind together.  In our busyness we sometimes forget to pour into our relationship on a regular basis.  When this happens we start to lose touch with one another and that’s not good.  We try to be intentional about having some form of date night regularly.  Most of the time, Anise comes to me and tells me she needs a date or tells me some place she would like to go.  I say okay and we start looking at dates.  In other cases, we may have an active week but still may not have free time to go out.  That’s when I get creative and tell her set aside time later in the day so we can watch a movie.  We turn off our phones, make some popcorn, hug up on the couch and watch a movie.  For a couple of hours it’s nobody else but us enjoying each others company.

Date nights are essential to having a close intimate marriage.  This is the time that should be set aside for only you and your spouse to enjoy.  Therefore be intentional about finding creative ways to have a date night.  It doesn’t have to be expensive or time consuming. If you have kids secure a baby sitter ahead of time so you will not have to reschedule.  Whatever you decide to do just make sure you start making space for it in you schedule.  Shoot for once a month and try your best to be consistent.  Now you have some insights about the need for date nights, so go and make it happen.
